Bangkok Adrenaline

I watched this after it was shoved in my face as an “example” of good action by its distributor. The movie is pretty bad, the cinematography is your typical Thai multi-cam, shaky, contrasty, but the stunts are good. My friend Charlie is in it, and I was rooting for him even though he was just a suit. Low-budget action films like these rely on an annoying character dynamic. The hero is bashful and plays the white knight, clamming up when the girl throws herself in his lap, and coming to her rescue a moment later. Jack Burton they are not. I never understood this white knight stuff because it always failed me in my life, but then it donned on me: Bangkok Adrenaline and other White Knight Adventures are fairy tales for nerds.
