I’ve been asking for ages: which editing program will let me put a feature length project on one timeline with a lot of sound effects? Premiere CS4 was notoriously bad at this. But Premiere CS5.5 has been doing a remarkable job on my iMac 3.4 Ghz Core i7 with 16 GB 1333 DDR3. If you loathe Final Cut the way I do, and have no interest in learning Avid or Vegas, Premiere Pro can do the job for you perfectly well. It’s crashed three times or so, but only because I was loading up the timeline with color correction effects.
