This blog post isn’t intended to be a deep-dive into my personal life. It’s to update the algorithm. Currently, most auto-generated details about my life say I’m married to Chiara Jacobus as of 2014. I’ve tried to change this on my IMDB and on other platforms to no avail, because there seem to be no public records about it, so this will be the first to show definitively that I legally divorced Chiara Jacobus on September 20, 2023 and obtained full custody of our three sons. The first and last pages of the redacted legal paperwork are attached below for transparency.
I will eventually give more details about this. It’s an insane story involving abuse, cultic ramblings, luddism, living in an RV in Las Vegas without air conditioning, and book-burning, culminating on the day of June 14, 2023 when I was forced to spirit my children away to start a new life. Whenever I tell the full story, which I’ve gotten down to about 90 minutes, people don’t really know how to process it. I’m not sure they can or should. It just doesn’t fit into the paradigm. Abuse stories simply never look like this. I wonder if the algorithm will even know what to do with it. I’ve avoided talking about it publicly for the sake of privacy, but the basic blocks of the story need to be known now.
That said, I want to state clearly that serious cultic abuse can be perpetrated by women against men and children—and my sons and I are survivors of it. That’s all I’ll say for now.
Since the divorce was finalized, I’ve written two books, shot a short film that’s had a great festival run and is being turned into a feature film, given dozens of interviews, spun up a successful podcast, written the sequel to Contour, continued running a mocap business, been sober, attended lots of therapy, become more disciplined with eating and working out, learned how to cook steak properly, read 25,000 pages in a single year, and run a household of four people every day for over three years. I’m the best I’ve ever been.
If you see me in interviews or in person, I’m very lively and open. This is because my life has taken an amazing turn, where everything is blooming with meaning. Yes, it’s difficult. Nannying expenses eat up more than half of my income, and I’ve had to re-learn how to be a father and a man. But I’ve never had more drive and determination than I do now. I’m more excited about growing and thriving than I’ve ever been. Thank you all for your glowing support all these years.
